Recently, Hainan Huluwa Pharmaceutical Group announced great news: the results of a research project in which the company participated have been published for the first time in an international academic journal. This marks not only a major breakthrough in the company’s research capabilities, but also a key step forward in its presence in the international academic community!

The published article, titled "Molecular Basis and Pharmacological Mechanisms of the Anti-inflammatory Effects of Changyanning Granules: An Integrated Study of Serum Pharmacology and Network Pharmacology", was published in the Pakistan Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pak. J. Pharm. Sci.). The study systematically investigated the mechanism of action of Changyanning Granules (CYNG) in the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). Using an integrated approach combining serum pharmacology and network pharmacology, it identified the anti-inflammatory active components and key signaling pathways, providing a solid scientific basis for its clinical application.

The article notes that ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease, for which conventional drug therapies are often limited in efficacy and associated with multiple side effects. As a traditional Chinese medicine compound formulation, Changyanning Granules demonstrate promising therapeutic potential due to their multi-component and multi-target characteristics. Using UPLC-QTOF/MS technology, the research team identified 39 compounds in Changyanning Granules. Further serum pharmacology analysis clarified the in vivo absorption profiles of 15 of these components. Through network pharmacology analysis, 132 common targets associated with ulcerative colitis were identified, and a compound–target network was constructed. The study predicts that Changyanning Granules may exert anti-inflammatory effects by regulating the MAPK signaling pathway.

In in vitro experiments, researchers used a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW 264.7 macrophage inflammation model to validate the inhibitory effects of Changyanning Granules on inflammatory responses. The results showed that Changyanning Granules significantly reduced the expression of inflammatory cytokines and exerted anti-inflammatory effects by downregulating p-p38 and p-JNK protein expression, thereby modulating the p38/MAPK signaling pathway.

The publication of these research findings not only marks significant progress for Huluwa Pharmaceutical Group in the field of traditional Chinese medicine compound formulations, but also reflects the company's influence and research strength on the international academic stage. Looking ahead, the company will continue to strengthen collaboration with domestic and international research institutions, strive to generate more innovative research outcomes, and contribute further to the modernization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine.
